I'll be getting a bcm 14.5 middy without the handguards soon and i'm thinking about getting the dd omega midlength system to put on it. How hard will it be since the flashhider will be pinned? Can i just cut off the stuff i don't need or should i just buy an upper with the rail installed?

Rail is insalled in place of factory handguards. No need to cut or modify anything.

The Omega is a 2 piece drop-in style rail. You don't have to touch the muzzle device at all.

The omega on my dd m4v1 doesn't have the part where the plastic handguards slip into. I can't remember the name of the parts.

That is one of the scenarios where the DD Omega's really shine. Its the perfect rail for that upper IMO

Not a problem...and it won't be rattling around.

The BCM Upper (this one?) has the Delta assembly on it.  The regular Omega will attach to it without any modification.

The DD rifle you have (this one?) has an Omega X rail that uses a proprietary nut and no Delta assembly.

So when you go to buy the Omega, buy the regular Omega 9" for the BCM, not the Omega X.  The Omega X will require you to remove the pinned muzzle device and FSB in order to change the standard nut to a DD nut.

I have a DD Omega 7" and think it is the best FF system out there that does not require any modifications.  I also like the DD EZ (not sure if it comes in mid) for a nice, inexpensive non FF drop in.

(Edited for missing letters in words.)

That is probably your best bet.  Looking at the prices it seems like you will pay the same price whether you buy the upper and rail separately or buy it with the rail installed by them.  Might as well have them do it.
