Heard of too many problems w/ the Armalite AR-10!!  I don't want to pay $1400 for a jamomatic!!  Any idea when one might be out in 20" (16" is too short for me)

I have the 18" and like it quite a bit.  You could get a 24" and have it cut down as well.

They are working on a 20" but no eta yet.

All I want is a RFA2-300 in .308.

dont believe everything you here on the internet,

one, judging by your argument you would believe the ar10 has the same relibility as a tech-9, if that was so, they would not be in buisness, and certainly not have been a competor in the ARMY SASS/m110 trials.

and two, armalite ar10s are closer to 1250 than 1400,

dpms is a great gun, but no better than any other 308 AR, all in all i have had two ar10s and neither has been any less relible than any of my ar15's

Thank you everyone for the info and opinion.  I've heard that Armalite will be introducing AR-10 upgrades in the near future (very near), one of them is an improved magazine.  I've heard their current magazines work well, but these are supposed to be even better......hopefully the upgrades will not include and upgraded pricehinking.gif

they have been upgrading the rifle for the last few years, price has not really gone up, they have been in ths same price range as before, at least as far back as 2001

even if you find an early model for 1000 bucks, you can send it to armalite to have it upgraded to current specs for 60 dollars

so in the end, the upgrades should not effect final product cost

I'd go with the AP4 if it had a longer barrel.  I'm hoping that DPMS will have a 20" A2 version at the Shot Show.......anyone know anything?
