I know centerfire pistols are generally ok and rimfires are not. What about ARs & other centerfire rifles?

I do not excessively dry fire any of my weapons and use snap-caps for any training exercises. Yes, .22 rimfires are often more suseptable to damage from dry-firing.

Yes. It's O.K. to dry fire your AR.
Matter of fact lots of folks recommend
dry firing ARs to familiarize one's self
with trigger pull/timing. On another note it's
wise to dry fire after cleaning/dissassembly
to function check. I always do 4-5 times.
