I ordered a J&T kit and got a stripped lower from DPMS at my local FFL. Does any know how well these two go together, i.e. finish, etc.?

Really nice selection!

You are going to have one slick rifle bud!

My 20" has a century lower which is made by the same people who supply DPMS.  They are a dead on match to the J&T upper both in appearence and fit.  Nice and smooth!

BTW: Welcome to the board!

Another question.  I am right handed, but I shoot left handed because my left eye is dominant.  Should I get an ambidexterous safety or anything, or should I not even bother?

I'm a lefty, as long as the safety is tight, and not loose (easy to move) you'll be alright.  I have decently sized hands and in the fire position the selector hits my hand but doesn't annoy it.
