Guys,

A friend of mine owns a DPMS AP4 .308 with the free float tube.  He wants to swap for a railed handguard.  Do you know of any manufacturers beside DPMS that offer such a beast?  Is the installation fairly simple?

TIA,

Bud

How old is the rifle?  DPMS changed their rail height maybe six months ago and while you can still use existing handguards, it'll be stepped and won't look quite right.  You can however pickup an old-spec upper receiver pretty cheaply from Fulton Armory.

As for actually performing the swap, you'll want the DPMS .308 "Panther Claw" action block and LR308 barrel nut wrench (in addition to the other misc tools, vice, punches, etc).
