This guy's usually ahead of the times.  

In a thread earlier today, he claimed to have had an M4 whilst executing his CQB duties in Mogadishu.  Got his front sight shot off.

Not sure how he got an M4 then, but an impressive story nevertheless.

We used M4 the whole time I was in.
Not to mention they were used back in VIETNAM.

In Vietnam, those were XM177E1's. At least that was all I saw.

The M4 was introduced in 1988, so they most assuredly did not have them in Vietnam.  They have used the CAR-15 in Vietnam, but not the M4.
