Hey Guys,
I got the chance to play with the new SPR II. Pretty cool gun. It has all the right parts, from everyone we know and some others. The new Leupold TS-30 is fantastic, as is the Litton PVS-17. OPS Inc is the flash hidder and the Suppressor. The charging handle is about twice as thick as a standard one, having to be relieved to fit past the stock! This gun also has ARMS #68 Rings, and KMCs FF RAS and Full Auto Trigger Pack. The new KMC flip up front sight is very, very nice! I'm scheduled for some trigger time on Wednesday, so I'll report back then. |

I don't like the idea of having the flip-up, front sight on the FF Tube.
It seems to me to defeat the purpose of HAVING the FF tube. I think it should be on the barrel. Isn't that the point of isolating the barrel from any uneccessary torque? |

IF IT'S A GENUINE ONE, AND IT CERTAINLY DOES LOOK LIKE IT IS, THE BARREL IS A DOUGLAS STAINLESS OF APPROX 18". THE GAS BLOCK IS JUST LIKE KNIGHT'S STAINLESS ONE, BUT A CRANE-BUILT. THE BARREL COLLAR IS NOT THREADED. THE OPS INC 2-PORT BRAKE IS THREADED; THAT PORTION IS COVERED BY A THREAD PROTECTOR, NOT CLEARLY VISIBLE. YES, IT'S A STANDARD P.R.I. GAS BUSTER.
I HAVE BEEN INFORMED BY A SOURCE THAT WOULD KNOW THAT THIS FORMAT SPR WITH KNIGHT'S COMPONENTS AND TS-30 SCOPE IS REFERRED TO AS THE "SPR-B". ITS PREDESSOR, THE SAME RIG BUT WITH THE LEUPOLD LR M3, IS THE "SPR-A". AND THE ORIGINAL WITH P.R.I. FOREND PLUS ARMS SPR RAIL, #40 REAR SIGHT, #22 MEDIUM RINGS, ETC., IS SIMPLY THE "SPR". NICE PICS! So what happened to the PRI fore end and front site?
Knights better? I take it they want to be able to take the tube off without removing the front gas block? |

How is the eye relief on the Leupold TS-30? I am using an M1 long range and it is set all the way forward (forward scope ring against the turret bell) in an ARMS 35QD base. I have the base set as far forward on the flat top rail as I can get it and with an A-1 length stock ( I just like them better) I still find myself too close to the optic sometimes. I am considering going to a GG&G fire rail with ARMS 22 low rings. Let us know how it shoots

I'll have more info when I get my hands on it again. BTW, Wes, you'll be waiting for the report until after Wednesday, as that's when I'm going to go shoot the "bonifed" SPR-II! Also, I don't need any clearance to post these pictures, but all of you that have viewed them have better have your credentials in order! I'd hate for any of you to have classified info on your hard drives. |

THE FOREND IS A KNIGHT'S "LONG M4 (FF) RAS ASSEMBLY", P/N: 99266. THAT'S THE PART NUMBE FOR THE COMPLETE ASSEMBLY, NOT JUST THE TUBE. IT IS LASER ETCHED ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE TUBE "5.56 M4 MATCH (FF) RAS, P/N # 99167.

Absolutely wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks so much About the TS30 I just got and email from : Kyle Addison Leupold Customer Srevice He said " The TS30 was a one time run for the military and has no retail price. It may be offered in some form in the future." He gave me no specs what so ever. Oh well I tryed. chuck |

Hey Guys,
I'm back from my trip. I've not a ton of time to comment, but I'll make a few short observations. The gun lets you know your limitations, and not the other way around. Suppressors are fantastic, especially indoors. PRI charging handle is cool. OPS Inc brake works well without the can, but better with. Trigger is fantastic, better than a guy like me really needs, but nice anyways. SOPMOD kit lists (lable on Pelican case) the the gun as SPR-II. The Leupold TS-30 is a generic term for this style scope. It stands for "Tactical Scope-30MM Tube". There are a few different R&D variations. Current ones are built like MKIVs with VXIIIs one peice tubes, side focus, and M3 Turrets. Power range varies on most. Newest version (not on this gun) has an illuminated reticle. The scope probably won't be available, so don't call Leupold asking. These were strictly for R&D. I didn't use the PVS-17 or PEQ-2A. Sorry, can't comment. Anyways, was fun, and I hope to get the opportunity to do it again. |
