So confusing...This choice would be based on most popular choice in the field. I've seen some SF pics around and it seems that they make individual choices. Is this any help?

ACOG TA01NSN, Aimpoint or EOTech, like C4Grant said, all available to us.  If you want pics you might wanna say so [:)]
I don't have an Aimpoint or EOTech but plenty of others do and they can post them for you.

Theres basically no such thing as an issued optic in general terms.  Depending on the branch of service, right down to specific units, you well see:

Aimpoing M68/M2 CCO
Eotech
Trijicon NSN ACOG
Trijicon TA31F ACOG
Trijicon compact ACOGs
The old Colt 4x carry handle scope

Ive even seen the C-more on one GI's rifle (puke).

Some units have a lot of personal choice as to optics.

The most prolific optic used on the M4 is the M68.  Its an Aimpoint Comp M.  Thats the older unit.  You want the newer Comp M2 which has longer battery life.

I could swear I remember seeing a report saying that therer were something like 20,000 to 30,000 Aimpoints in service. I would say its probably the most used.

Only 20-30k?  Shit, I bet you the ARFCOM army has more than that in service.

Then you want the M68 CCO. It is the most widely fielded optic in the military. As far as what SF uses, there are too many individual preferences and unit issue. Even mission requirements. Some like nothing but open sights. Keeping things simple and basic. Others go the distance with a PAQ4C and a PVS14.

But you won't go wrong with the M68. It is and will continue to be the most widely issued optic for awhile. I carried one in combat and know for a fact it is everything and more a soldier needs.
