I have the 20" with A2 stock, and this thing is one heavy beast.  I am considering the following mods to reduce some weight.

Cut barrel to 14.5" and pin my YHM QD flash hider.
Get the barrel fluted
Magpul CTR stock

I want to put a Nikon 2.5-10 X44 SF IR on a ? mount.

I have  YHM Phantom suppressor that will go on the gun when my paperwork comes in.

I know this is a heavy rifle, but my thinking is that it will be much less cumbersome at a shorter length.

What say the hive?

i think any of the mods would be happy to have it, i'm going to give my vote to beekeeper though.  He makes me laugh most.

Don't screw up a good rifle...sell it and get what you want. By the way, the rifle you own weighs 9 lbs...not so heavy...have you considered the changes in the gas sysem?   Shrps74

Mine is a short 16". I wanted a short barrel due to the long SHARK suppressor I run on it. WIth the can, its 25 inches long. I would suggest an adjustable gas block if you are going to run a suppressor. I replaced mine with a low profile adjustable block by PRI and its the shit. Its hid under the 12 inch Daniel Defense rail and i couldnt be happier. My optic is a 3x9x42 Mil/Mil Super Sniper FFP and an Armalite 1 piece mount. I replaced the CAR stock with a Magpul PRS as well. Its heavy but its a shooter.
