I'm considering having a new midlength rifle built and would like some
idea of how this setup might look. i'm wanting something that would
look something like a mini MK 12 MOD 1 does this exist?

I would like to be able to switch between using ACOG an Comp M2 or
NF 3.5-15x50 for precision shots at times. unsure if the NF scope would
even fit, thinking 1/8" between it and front sight so the DD 9.5 handguard
might be better but would still be interested in seeing pictures if anyones
tried it on a 9.0 midlength with troy front sight.

below are the options I would like to see on complete rifles
not just uppers.
my choice is the LaRue Midlength Handguard but I don't think it will
work with the 3.5-15x50.
Pictures should be complete rifles with only the option listed below.
thanks..
i'm mainly wanting to see how scopes like NF look on this setup with
bipod but pictures using the same options below but with acogs, comp's
short to mid range scopes like NF or Leupold are welcome to.

please no A2 front sight blocks or anything other than midlength gas
systems with midlength handguards..
thanks again, post your pics for everyone to enjoy

Barrel 16" Midlength Gas system
PRI OR KAC Low Profile Gas Block

TROY or KAC Folding Battle Sights - Front & Rear
PRI OR KAC Low Profile Gas Block
Quick Release Harris Bipod Mount
Harris Bipod
Vertical Forarm Grip if CQB Scop Used
TangoDown Rail Covers or KAC Rail Covers OD Green preferd
NIGHTFORCE 3.5-15x50
Nightforce 2.5-10x24

Thanks Frens..
missed those.. just what I needed but the only rifle looking close to the setup i'm thinking about is
havoc's on page 6 at the bottom.
the setup i'm looking for pics of would be very simuler to his but with a DD 9.0, 9.5 or LaRue 9.0 and a scope like NF 3.5-15
come on guys.. someone has to have pictures of something like this? like a mini mod 1

I built an upper with that theme, but Mod 0.

nice mongoo1, thats just what i'm looking for but in mod 1 setup. thinking mounting
a scope of the type I wan't is going to be a tight fit.
i'm sure a leupold m3 LR would fit but not the Night Force 3.5

I'm running something with most of what you're looking for, but with a LaRue 12.0 and no bipod.

Instead of switching between optics, why not get something that will pull double duty like the SB Short Dot, or a 1.5-6 Flashdot? The former is probably the best money I've ever spent on optics.

Here's a Mod 1-ish I put together a while back:

You need to talk to WES at MSTN.

AR-Jedi, why not use the CQ/T scope? It seems more in line with a mutli-role carbine than a dedicated long range optic. I'm interested because I would like to do a build similar to yours but i've been looking at either a Trijicon w/ red dot on top or a CQ/T. Leaning towards the CQ/T because it is cheaper.

where did i say i built this as a "multi-role carbine"?

the OP stated:

i showed him a solution with a similar optic to the NF.

where did i say i built this as a "multi-role carbine"?

don't buy one 'cause it's cheaper.
buy one 'cause it exactly fits your specific need(s).

i have a very light 0-150yd M4-ish SHTF carbine with an Aimpoint M2 atop it. if the zombies we all fear show up early one afternoon i can run and gun all day long with this weapon.

i have a 50-500yd RECCE-ish precision rifle with an MR/T atop it. if the zombies we all fear show up early one afternoon i can make a stand from my rooftop with this weapon.

one day i will buy a Trij, and build another M4-ish AR -- the combo would likely make a nice 25-300 yd solution. it's battery-less, stone tough, and battle tested. the 4X and donut (my pref) make a nice combo.

ummm... i have to go to the EE right now. talk to you later.

Thanks for the links MeagerMouse, on the recce pic listing the first
recce picture is very close to what I want but I think the KAC
midlength rail is a couple inches longer than the Larue or DD 9.0's
covering the gas block.

for something to look as close as possible to the real mk12 mod 1
but just shortened I think the KAC midlength would be to long. but
with the LaRue or DD they me be to short to fit the type of scopes
ive described.
