This is a Colt's M16A1 upper on a Colt's M6601 lower with a A1 buttstock assy, and grip.  Upper, charging handle, lower, and delta ring were coated with Norrell's to match:

I did the same thing with a Bushy lower,BUT I went and put the no trap door stock and the 3 prong suppressor, yours looks better, though,I'll have to get the lower and upper to match.

Yep, 1/12.  The Norrell's I used on this one is a special order custom color, Semi-Gloss Grayish Black Moly.  Details on the color here:

That is one sweet rifle.
+1 on the 1/12 twist?
Does the A1 20" come in any other twist rate?

I just noticed that you answered the twist rate Q.
My bad. Happy New Year's.

Yes, there is such a thing as a Colt's A1 profile barrel in 1/7.  Not real common though.

So, does anybody know where I can get a M16 mount for my AN/PVS-2?

Many M16A1's did have a raised mag fence.

Very Nice rifle Ekie!!!

I missed that question, if there were any A1's without the mag fence, there sure were not very many of em.  Only ones I ever saw were rebuilt Colt's XM16E1's.

The only problem with his and mine are the A2 reinforcements on the lower.

This is my Norel's Molyresin refinish of a Century CIA-15 rifle I did last weekend.  I also put an A2 flash suppresor on it when I removed the muzzle brake on Sept 14th and it has no bayonet lug.  I also had to replace the front swivel as it was always lacking the noise suppresive coating.  So it is not an attempt as a pure A1 but just a lighweight functional rifle.  The magazine is a refinished grey parkerized british steel magazine now with a green follower and a red extra strength spring from SAW.

The recievers are grey-black and all the steel parts are SOCOM Black.

Glad to hear that you got that done.  That Norrell's is the stuff huh?  Looks good, and am using a A2 lower on mine too.

I did it with  a Colt M16A1 upper and a RRA lower. The A2 features on the lower drove me crazy. What can I say? I wanted an A1 clone but couldn't live with the lie. I sold the upper and bought a Bushy M4 upper. Stangely, a phoney Rockmaster M4gery doesn't bother me a bit.

Except for removing the front site base and flash suppressor and stripping the pawl from the forward assist assembly, I stripped mine down to its tinest pins including the rear sight.  I also removed the barrel from the reciever.  This is the easiest way to make sure no oil weeps from any joints.

I let the barel soak in denatured EtOH in a wallpapar trough for a couple of days and washed everything else in soapy hot water.

I strip mine down and clean with acetone, and bake any parts that might "bleed" before spraying.

You almost deliberately have to fuck it up.  It is the most foolproof stuff I have ever used.  I had to deliberately make it run when I was praticing application.

Yep, Norrell's is the best.  Now don't make it sound to easy, then everyone will be doing it.

No, that's cool, have thought about getting a early A1 lower for mine.  I have a hard time going with non Colt's though, personal thing.

Here is a shot of some AN-PVS-2's:

Compared to the A1 receiver, the A2 is beefed up around the receiver extension tube, and the front pivot pin.  Web site, not that I am aware of.
