Does anyone sell Colt 5.56 lowers? If so, who & what price should I expect? I'm aware I'll be paying for the Colt stamp on a piece of metal. I just want to grab one for nostalgic purposes without having to buy a complete rifle. A clone build is in the works since I've used one a time or two to save my a$$ while on AD. Not that any other manufacturers M4 wouldn't have done the same. Also, will this lower have the big detent pins I've been hearing about? And if I can't find a seperate lower & have to stoop to buying a complete rifle & swap a currently owned upper, what Colt model # is the closest to a US mil M4. Thanks.

I'd say your closest match would be a 6921, but that's an SBR, or for non-NFA a 6920.  I don't know if Colt sells lowers individually.  I'd say your best bet would be checking the EE.  Maybe post a WTB ad.

colt doesn't sell stripped lowers, if it's a stripped or just a lower it's been taken apart from a whole rifle. The new colt rifles have big pins for the trigger and hammer, not the take down

I'm in the market for an assembled lower. Any idea if those can be had?

There was a guy at some atlanta area gunshows last fall that had 3 or 4 Colt 9mm marked stripped lowers that he wanted $350 for

That is what...... $175 - $200 too high?

You have to consider that adding that lower to your upper raises its resale by at least that much - usually more.

warpig- you can get lowers, you just have to be patient and keep a keen eye on the EE and similar boards

If it were me, I would look for the 6721 (AR15 A3 Tactical Carbine   rollmarks) or even the Match Target M4 (6400)

I believe there is a non NFA 6921 lower in the EE right now. Not cheap, but then again, look what you get - a non NFA 6921

Specialized Armament quoted me 400 bucks for a stripped colt lower, i lost all interest after that, that was last year maybe they have gone down in price since then. i just could not justify paying that when i could get 4 stripped lowers for that amount of moneyhock.gif
