1. I've noticed the colt bolts have a tiny "channel" behind each lug. I haven't seen this on other manufacturer's bolts (although I'm sure some have it). What is this channel for?

Not to poison the responses but the only purpose I can think of is that it's to help irrigate small dirt/dust/debris. What do you think?

2. Are colt bolts "micropolished"? I know they are magnetic particle tested, but someone mentioned they are "micropolished". I have yet to confirm this from another knowledgeable source.

3. Some of their extractor springs have RED (yes RED) inserts, I've only heard (up until now) of black and blue. What's the story with the red inserts?
