Has anyone had problems with the bolt staying open with the Colt system when no mag is inserted?

Friend was using a Colt SMG upper and RRA mag block and when no mag was present the bolt was prone to closing if there was a subtle bump.

the RRA block uses a transfer bar system and a 5.56 catch. My garrison block worked fine with a 9mm catch and a factory block.

He had the same symptoms when manually actuating the external bolt catch lever... can't figure out why it's slipping. We're new to 9mm so maybe it's the bolt carrier contact point?

I just noticed with two bolts I have out of Colt SMGs that one has a bevelled bottom edge while the other one doesn't. The bolt with the bevelled edge won't hold when trying to lock it back manually. Anyone else notice this bevel with their bolt? Which brand of bolt will have a nice perpendicular edge?

Both my 5.56 and 9mm AR's bolts slam shut if "bumped" on the buttstock..Yes My 9mm is easier to make it do it but I believe it's because the 9mm bolt is heavier and more apt to "bounce" when bumped.....UNDERDOG
