Hey Guys,

Here is a great deal at APEX right now

https://www.apexgunparts.com/product_info.php/products_id/1749

I must resist these kits, as I already have some sitting in a box waiting to be built.

You should give me the bike in your avatar, if it's yours. It'll be a lot better off in AZ, than in OK, trust me.

Seriously though, when I was 15, a Kawi dealer here, had a brand new Lawson replica for sale. It was 1983, and the bike was a year old. No matter how much I begged my old man to buy it, he wouldn't budge. I saw one on RSFS for stupid money, so I may have to settle for one of the newer ones.

Noob questions.

What else/how much to complete the kit?

You need to get the barrel and have the FSB installed.  I don't know how much for the a new non Colt barrel because I am a noob as well.  A period correct lower will be NDS, which will run about $200 by the time it gets in your hands.

I've been collecting parts for M16A1 build so I already have the period correct Colt barrels.  A factory Colt CMP Chrome Bore barrel 1/12 twist will run $175 - $250 depending on the condition and the seller.

Don't know my answers help you but I need to get my ass off of the internet.......I am already broke by just visiting this Retro Forum.

What else/how much to complete the kit?   Will need an AR disconnector, lower receiver, barrel with FSB(may be easiest), handguards or repair the ones in the kit. They are cracked. Figure $850ish plus total if using NDS lower, used Colt barrel and used no cracks handguards.  Can get some back by selling off Colt FSB in kit.  Still the cheapest I've seen the kits.  Guess they are getting tired of sitting on them.

It's a 2004 Kawasaki ZRX1200, only mine is the red color with a silver/black stripe down the side.  I'll sell it to ya for $4500, and it's only got approx. 7600 miles on it.    Then I could fund more gun projects.

BIKES for GUNS...what a concept!!

I have a guy interested to trade me either several S&W revolvers...or one pre-27 and a REGISTERED MAGNUM  for on of my older ducati Monsters!!

Guns are smaller...no gas...no freakin' BATTERIES to go DEAD over the winter...and no plates or insurance either.

Maybe we are ON to something here.

I like the red and black.
I took delivery of one of these in October of 1984. The thing was scary fast and so much fun for an 18 year old, I'm lucky to be alive.

MYPan65  I was 16 in 1985 and my first job was at a Kawasaki shop. We sold several Ninjas. One only made it out the shop doors and down to the first stoplight before the owner wrecked it!  He should not have bought a bike that fast as his first motorcycle.

New or used kits? I can buy complete VG USGI A1 uppers including  Bolts for $350 at the local gunshows. Unfortunately, he won't ship.

I nearly bought a Ninja about the same time, but my friend OlGunner, who had a Yamaha 650 Seca Turbo at the time (scary fast!) talked me out of it. He said he thought I'd end up dead if I rode it the way I drove my 280z. He was right. At the time if I got on a bike I had trouble keeping the front wheel on the ground. I'm more laid back now - it's time for a Harley I think. Anyway, regarding the REAL topic, I think that's a decent price. With an NDS blem lower and a used barrel off the EE, seems like you could build a nice A1 for under $700 pretty easily.

Pretty! That is the exact model I bought in 1986 as my first brand new motorcycle (had several used ones prior to that). Kept it a couple of years but saw Jesus too often, so I traded it in on a Yamaha XT600 which didn't quite do it for me, so I ended up buying in the fall of 1988 a left over 88 BMW R100GS which I still have!
