I just came home with a new Colt LE6920 to add along side the Bushmaster. Fit and finish of the gun is fine. It was packed with plenty of oil, so no rust. (I still haven't cleaned it yet).

I plan to shoot the Bushmaster (I haven't shot it yet) and leave the Colt as a safe queen. I believe it's long term value will be more than the Bushmaster. I realize that I'm going to take some heat for not shooting it on this forum, but that's my plan.

Nice job on the Colt. I'm not a fan of safe queens, take that bad boy out and show it some love.

Go shoot the Colt!

Good score! Now shoot the damn thing!

Shoot it.

And then shoot it some more.

One day when you're much older you will look back and hate yourself for not taking it out and shooting it. So go ahead and save yourself the future frustration and just shoot the dang thing.

I had a Colt for three years, put 10,000+ rounds down range and sold it for $20.00 more than I paid for it.
Just shoot the thing.

Nice!
Now take both of them out and beat the shit out of them!

Keep the Bushy and put a 18 or 20" barrel on it.

I'm not surprised about the "shoot the Colt" comments, but "sell the Bushy"?

Go out and enjoy it! Or do what I did and buy another one for the safe queen so you can shoot the Colt!

Before you shoot it, throw down the drive way to get that "used" look going. I kid, but you should shoot it. You won't know if it measurably better than the Bushy if you don't shoot it. I'm not saying it is, but you won' t know if you don't shoot it.

Don't sell the Bushmaster. If the FSB is canted or the carrier key is not properly staked, fix them. The go shoot both of them. Nothing wrong with Bushmaster!

Bang! Bang!

For both of them. A 6920's a great gun, but it's a gun, not an investment.*

*Even if you did tell your wife that.

Looks great. Go ahead and shoot 'em both. "Invest" in something less fun, more boring.

Cool

Its already been shot at least once at the factory.....so another 2-3 hundred more rounds wont hurt.....we wont tell anyone.

Really, a couple hundred rounds won't hurt the Colt. I bought a Colt 6601 that hadn't really been shot at all, for a good price. I put about 400 rounds through it, still looked new and sold it for a little more than I had in it. Shoot the rifle, it won't hurt the value if there is a new AW ban. You got a good deal on the price, so could sell it with some wear and tear for the same money. I don't personally see the point in safe queens, I shoot everything I own and trade the guns I don't shoot, unless they are real collector pieces. Your Colt won't be a collector piece for a long time, unless we have a new AW ban.

At least test fire the thing so you know that it feeds and fuctions in case you ever need to use it.
