Colt 9mm 10.5" barrel markings?

I just did a trade with a guy who sent me a "so called" 9mm Colt 10.5" upper.

I have NEVER seen a Colt barrel which was not marked 9mm NATO, etc.

Am I nuts or did the guy who traded me his upper get ripped off from a fellow arfcommer?

I guess I'll call Colt tomorrow.

if it was a 16" colt 9mm that was cut down there will be no marks on it. If it was a factory 9mm 10.5" it should be marked under the HG's I believe. Is the FSB marked with a C?

You are correct - There SHOULD be markings under the handguards.

I called Colt. "All our barrels ARE marked".

Same thing happened to me about six months ago. I bought an 10.5 colt upper advertised on the EE. I took off the handguards and there were no markings what so ever. I can only assume It was a 16 that was cut down. Really wish folks would specify that rather than using misleading info.

Are all Colt 9mm barrels chrome lined? That might be a giveaway if it was cut down from a 16".

On my 10.5 it is near the FSB under the hand-guards: 9MM C MP CB

The FSB is marked DO2

yes, colt 9mm's are chrome lined, including 16" versions
