How accurate can I expect this barrel to be?  Can it be made to shoot 1/2 Moa groups?
Thanks Dillon

According to the Crane data contrasting the east coast Sam-R's vs the west coast version using issue barrels, the difference is 15% in mean radius with both using 77 gr OTM ammo.
1/2 moa is iffy, but less than 1moa is probable.
Good shooting ,ncshooter

Depends a lot on the ammo.  The best I can do with Q3131A is 1.5 MOA, but it works for me.

I own a colt a2 with 20'' 1/7 chrome and did a lot of research, from what i can gather you want a heavy bullet . 77g is supposed to be optimal for this barrel. im shooting black hills reman ( all i can afford to shoot on a regular basis and still be good) 77 g match bthp. very good at 100 with gov profile barrel. im still saving to get a free float tube and upgrade trigger though to improve it out further.

I have 3 Colt 1/7 20" barrels.  2 HBARS and 1 Govt profile.  All were purchased as take off''s with little or no visable wear.

I plugged each into my test mule (RRA flat top upper. Colt Bolt group, 1 piece FF tube and Leupold 2.5x8, McCormack trigger).  Shot a 10 round string at 100 yards.  Did this twice on seperate days for 2, 10 round groups.

Shot 55g. SA, Federal XM193, IMI M193, America Eagle, and Hornady 75g. OTM as reloaded by Hornady.

The results were similar between barrels, but some like certain ammo better than others.  I am sure commercial ammo or good handloads (and a better shooter) could improve performance.  I certainly did not test much ammo that would be most suitable for a 1/7 twist.

The 75g. load was about 1.0 moa in all the barrels.  The 55g. loads varied from 1.25 to 1.9.  Most were around 1.5, but all of the barrels could do around 1.3 with one of the 55g. rounds.  Had I stopped at 3 rounds and picked my best group. I could have reported amazing results.

Best I've done is just over 2" groups at 200 yards with a bone stock R6601 HBAR.

I have one AR that will do 1/2 moa.  It is not a stock barrel.  The Delta HBAR that I had certainly would not do that well.  You can expect 1.0-1.5moa with most AR15 rifles.  Sometimes you will get a real winner that can do better with a stock barrel and certain ammo.  I'm talking consistent groups, not lucky rare events.  Best.  Watch-Six

The barrel I found out is a gov't profile does this give a better idea of how well it will do.

I shot this 3-shot .274" group at 100 yards today with a Colt 20" 1/7 using a 2.5-10 NightForce scope.
Ammo was Federal Match 69gr. HPBT.
The barrel is freefloated, and I have a JP Enterprises single stage trigger on it.
Barrel probably has 300 rounds thru it.
