Lost a front pivot detent the other night and used the rear detent instead.
Well, got around to the rear and was short a detent, so I fabricated one with a dremel and a peice of clothes hanger wire.

Worked pretty good. Anyone else try this or am I nuts?

You're out of your mind crazy...

Everyone knows you're supposed to use a nail, not a clothes hanger.

What you did is fine, UNTIL you can get around to replacing it with the correct part.

A piece of finishing nail is the correct Aggie Engineered temporary replacement part

Nope your not crazy, I’ve done the same thing!

I pulled off my grip and forgot about the safety detent being inside the lower. When it came time to re-assemble the grip my safety fell out!

After some cussing and searching of my shop floor I decided to make a detent from a nail. It worked so good I almost hated to replace it when my Bushmaster parts kit showed up!

wow. My prayers are answered.  A cheap uh, jury-rigged version of a cheap part!

Lost my selector detent couple of weeks ago.  Damn thing stayed in until I was carrying it across the yard...

The finishing nail idea never even hit me! Thanks guys.

Here I am trying to 'sharpen' clothes hanger wire with a dremel! On the spot fabrication is great. Missing something? Just make it yourself!
