Well I just got my brand new LMT upper with Samson MRFS C rails on it and of course it came covered in rust inhibitng oil. Great that they do that just a pain to clean.

I have seen recommendations on here of non chlorinated brake cleaner to degrease parts so is that the general consesus fo what to get all that crud off of my new upper?

wipe it down with Alcohol or non clor brake cleaner. Don't forget to reoil the parts that can rust.

I used Gunscrubber.  It worked well on my LMT upper.

Well I gave the NC brake cleaner a try and I nearly pooped em :) It left a white residue on the upper which I had to then go over with clp to remove.

Not worth it in my book, I think the brake cleaner is too harsh. I may try the gunscrubber though.

Gun scrubber and brake cleaner all have a propellant that may leave a residue.  The best thing is baby wipes.  They remove the grease, and dry without any residue.  Remember to oil after cleaning.
