Are Chrome Bolt Carriers any larger in diameter due to the thickness of the chrome?  I'm working on an AR pistol project with a Hesse upper, which is a bit loose on the inside diameter, my thinking was a chrome carrier would help tighten up the tolerances...

If they are any wider, it's only going to be .003-.004 of an inch, which isn't going to help all that much. You're going to get almost that much in manufacturing tolerences in an unplated carrier
