Building an SPR type gun, and I can get a chromed BCG for about $20 more than a standard one. Aside from the "pretty" factor. Any advantages or disadvantages I need to be aware of? I was looking at RRA parts to be specific in case that matters.

Hard Chrome has a very low coefficient of friction when compared to rougher surface finishes such as hard anodizing and phosphate, which are typical finishes for bolt carriers and AR upper receivers.
