I’m trying to find out the safe limits of chamber pressure for standard AR-15s/M16A2s [by ‘safe’ I mean long term use, not what you might get away with for a few shots].

M855 runs about 61-63,000 PSI max… But is that the limit?

How far can it be safely pushed before you start seriously taking life off the rifle?

Yeah, dumb question, but I asked my rifle and it wouldn't tell me .

That's for .223, the pressure for 5.56x45mm [NOT the same things] is considerably higher. That's one of the reasons using 5.56 in a rifle chambered for .223 is a no-no [that and the case neck].
