saw a bushmaster AR-15 pistol that had the upper and lower made of carbon fiber. the thing was light as a feather, about as heavy as a 92FS but wouldn't the heat melt the upper receiver?hinking.gif

Carbon Fiber isn't the same stuff they use to make plastic toys. It's a very strong/resilient material. It's the same stuff they use to make HK G36 assault rifles race car hoods, hell even some sound suppressors.

    I bought one one some time ago.  Had nothing but trouble with the gun.  Will not buy a carbon fiber until the fix it.  Had Bushmaster trade the gun in.
