Was out shooting a few coke bottles when my weapon started double feeding. Once it did that I clear the chamber, cycled another round. It wouldn't fire, I noticed the bolt wouldn't "go home", even with the forward assist. Went back to the truck and starting investigating. Come to find out, my gas-tube was.... well a little bent!

The only thing I could think of was that the gas tube moved and the BCG shoved it...
Ive got a new one ordered, but I cant get the roll pin in the FSB out either, think it may be bound up by the gas tube...

Any thoughts?

Never seen that before. Kinda funny I bet when you pulled the handguards.

Maybe one of those empties that "double fed" pushed the gas tube forward then attempts to fix made it worse?

I havent done anything to the weapon since I bought it, other than a good cleaning.
I looked at the key, and didnt see anything abnormal... not even an imprint of where it hit the tube... assuming thats what happened.

I dont even know what it means to "pig tail" a gas tube... What is that?

How many rounds did you put through it before it did that?  I remember another thread about a month ago where a guy said he was melting gas tubes with full-auto out of his gun, if your tube got really hot and soft, and then you had the double feed or something jammed into the tube from in the chamber I can see this happening.

a pigtail is a gas tube that is carbine length, but is twisted round and round like the old CB antennas to lengthen it to actual rifle length.

Quoted:
Looks like you had warmed up the tube pretty good (blasting away) then on you double feed, one round tried to "enter" the gas tube and wrinkled it. Now you have a "One Shooter" till you get it fixed.

Cut that tube to relieve binding, then you should be able to get the pin and tube out. I would not recommend reusing the tube pin.

PS: Tell your wife, she is pretty observant.

I didnt shoot that many rounds... Went through a Colt 20rnd (not too fast), took a break for some shotty prac, then got maybe 8 or 10 out of a 30rnd before it did what it did.
Its not even a 1 shooter... I got back to the house and tried to bend it back a little and straighten it up some, but it wouldnt go. I didnt want to torque on it so I left it be... It looks like it has stretched some, but I dont know how it got that hot that fast...

The wifey was just as stunned as I was...

Its not going to get shot until the new tube comes in.. So I stripped it down and am in the process of cleaning the hell out of it!
