What's the weight difference between the SS and aluminum?  Using a postage scale I got right at about 4 ozs for the aluminum and 6 for the SS.  

Any one actually notice or have any harmful effects from the light rust on the chrome silicon springs?

wipe the springs with CLP if it concerns you, it will not be a problem though

never weighed them, the difference was too small to notice for me

I've already done that with my other SS mags I already have.  I don't see it being a problem but I have a slight case of OCD.

I can tell a difference when unloaded.  Once they're loaded I can't tell.  I'm not to worried about the rust on the springs.
