Any word on when the 7.62 and straight 20 rounders are gonna be available?  I have 3 7.62 mags to send back and some money burning a hole in my pocket!

IIRC larry had no plans to make straight 20s, he does make the curved 20s though, and the 7.62x39 mags are coming, SOON!

Here's the complete up date on the 20's and 7.62x39.

We have finished a prototype of the 7.62x39. The curvature is correct and the stacking is correct. This is a 30round magazine. The cutting of material for the tool will begin as soon as the corrections to the 9mm are completed. This should be no more than 1 week.
The straight 20 round stainless steel magazine tooling is completed and we hope to run parts next week. It then will take a about a week to weld, heat treat etc.

I feel like a man on death row waiting that final walk!  Since this is about C Products AR-15 7.62x39 Mags and not about getting married, I’ll just say that I feel that the wait will be worth having a GREAT Mag.

The value of my AR should shoot up and I’ll be able to really have fun killing cans, rocks, and paper targets like the guys with the little bullets…

I'm gonna have to get a brass catcher so I can shoot my 7.62 at the range.  I'm not paying for brass 7.62 at the current prices and I'm sure as hell not leaving them the brass shells I do have.

I wish they would just buy a friggin magnet so I could shoot my wolf and not worry about catching it all.

Larry,

Can you give us a price line on the new AR 7.62x39 Mags?  Will there be a price break?  Any extra goodies being offered on the new AR 7.62x39 Mags and are you going to offer them in different (gray/black/desert tan) finishes?

Do you think that you will be offering a new “holder” that will allow us to use the existing Russian speed clips to load your new Mags?  How long before you will offer the new design in a 20 round Mag or even a good 5/10 round Mag for hunting?

Think I’m out of questions for now and vocabulary, but will try again later so you don’t feel unloved…

Larry, thanks for all of your time and effort on these mags.  I hope that you will reconsider on the 20 round size.  After I get plenty of the 30 rounders, I would definately like some of the smaller sized mags because they are so handy.

Gee Larry, did we do something to piss ya all off?  Hate to say it, but kind of hurts to get the news from someone other than you about another delay without any explanations here 1st.

I know that you have a lot on your plate with your company.  However, while others have working Mags for their AR’s, we been waiting a long time just to get something that works in the 1st place.

I guess we are the distant sandal relations that have to wait for a few table scraps.

Just got the word that C Products is working overtime to put out the “New” 9mm Mags and the 20 round straight Mags and this is the reason (along with the “Group Buy”) and cause for the push back for the AR 7.62x39 Mags.

It seams that the prototypes and testing are finished and we are just waiting for your starting time at the presses.  Guess that says it all for now.  After my experiences with the AR-15 in the 7.62x39 I feel that it is a better platform than the .223/5.56 (just MHO).

Artic Wolf:

Any problems with broken bolts firing 7.62x39, especially with steel case ammo?

What bolt manufacturer do you recommend ?

My Colt 7.62x39 has fired over 1,100 rounds of Wolf FMJ/HP ammo with only 3 duds.  The 1st 500 rounds were Wolf ammo with out the benefit of being treated with Microlon.  After I treated my AR with Microlon, I fired another 600 rounds of Wolf FMJ/HP ammo with an additional 700 rounds of Winchester factory and reloads using FMJ/HP/SP bullets.

I am still using the same Colt bolt assembly and firing pin that came from the factory that shows little ware for cycling 1,800 rounds of ammo.  Please keep in mind that I have cycled 1,300 rounds without the use of ANY lube or oils, just the one treatment of Microlon.

Knowing that not everything last forever, I’m trying to find a Colt bolt assembly as spear parts for that day when I need to replace it.  I should add that this is a semi-auto and not a M16.  Hope that this helps ya…

ArticWolf

PS:  I have never had any problems with Wolf FMJ/HP ammo!

"Nightmare on Elm Street!"

Had the worst day of my life yesterday.  The guy I got my AR 7.62x39 from had 4 after market 20 round mags from Cabelas.  I don’t have one but all the remaining 3 failed big time on me yesterday!    The one 10 round 7.62x39 USA Magazine broke too!

At present I have NO workable Mags in the AR 7.62x39 platform for my Colt to feed it.  I had no less than 10 FTF and several jams yesterday.  As a result I am now without any working Mags for my Colt.  I am reduced to having to use my AR-15/M16 Mags in a 5 round mode until Larry saves me.

I really wish I hadn’t sent back the CP 7.62x39 Mags that I had…

I have several of the “Colt 7.62x39” AR-15 Mags.  They are only standard Colt AR-15/M16 20 round Mags that have had the butt plate stamped Colt 7.62x39 on them.  Ergo the problem with the Colt AR-15’s chambered for the Russian 7.62x39 round.

You can take any of the standard AR-15/M16 20 round Mags and use it and have the same results without paying a high price for a useless factory Mag.  At present there are several 10 round AR-15 Mags that will work for you.  However, there looks like another delay with C Products scheduled release of their AR 7.62x39 Mags.

Now if you “just” have to have the “Colt Factory” AR-15 Mag in 7.62x39, then I’ll see how many that I have and I’ll let you have them for just $87.00 each plus S&H.  I then will be able to get 3 C Products AR 7.62x39 for my AR.

FYI

The failure of the “Cabela After Market” Mags were not the “Colt” M16 Mags stamped Colt 7.62x39.  The major different between the two was in the fact that you could only get between 5 to 7 rounds to work with the Colt Mags, and the After Market would load the full 20 rounds (about the same size as the Colt 30 round Mags) of 7.62x39.

In short, I had a complete failure of my After Market Mags and NOT the Colt Mags that I knew didn’t work.  Hope that this clears the waters of your confusion...

I'm waiting for the SS straight 20s.  CProducts website still says "New! Available February 26!"

UPDATE:  I just got off the phone with Larry.  He said the straight 20s are in stamping and will be available for sale in "about 10 days."

Larry,

What is your contingency plan for the pending hi-cap ban, especially for the 7.62x39?

I would suggest that you produce “bodies” that we buy “pre-ban”, then trade them in for “replacements” when the project is complete.

Just a thought.
