I keep hearing a lot of static from people on this board about the outrageous, idiotic, stupid people paying $1600 to $2.2k for various models of Colt LE AR-15's on Gunbroker. These comments are usually followed up by "gee, I'll be selling mine if this keeps up, etc."

So far, it is still the original two sellers on Gunbroker, with auctions ongoing, and I don't see too many other guns coming available. Where's the disconnect?

impatience and the fear that they may never obtain a Colt LE model.  Only time will tell....

My 6721 will be in this week. If someone wants to pay me $1600 for it, it's theirs.

I'll give you $1500.

Plenty of Colt LEO rifles were/are available on the ARFCOM Equipment Exchange for about $1000-$1100.

Not to offend the people spending that type of $ on LE colts, but if you are going to do that, the ban ending didn't help you that much!  You are still paying WAY too much for a rifle that should cost in the $1000 range.  If people quit buying, dealers will quit gouging.  Pretty soon you will see the Bushmaster no bans for around 900 or under, wait for that!  And not to start the tired argument, but COLT IS NO BETTER THAN BUSHMASTER!  I have had both, and they are the same in fit, finish, and quality.  Unless you are buying one in hopes of a good investment, save your money and buy a Bushmaster or other competetor.

Colt has something no other manufacturer has. AR15 on the receiver.

AR-15 on the receiver?  Not worth 500 dollars extra to me!

Me neither. But then, I didn't pay $500 extra for mine. Apparently it is worth more to some.

Anyone who is paying $500 extra (I assume you mean in relation to the price of a Bushmaster M4 clone) isn't shopping around.

A local shop just got in a batch of 6920 and 6721 models yesterday afternoon. One of the 15 available 6721's they have are 1199 each, and one of the 45 available 6920's they have are 1299. They said the price is good until they run out and that they will be getting no more for public sale. Are these good prices?

My all original Colt 6520 Government Carbine (s/n GC0096XX) has the "AR15" stamp on the left side receiver.....

sorry but my LE6920 doens't have AR15 on the receiver. It only says:

LEFT SIDE:
(Pony in the Circle / Colt Insignia)
COLTS LAW
ENFORCEMENT
CARBINE
CAL. 5.56 MM
LE0169XX
(off to the right)
COLT DEFENSE
HARTFORD, CONN.
---U.S.A.----

RIGHT SIDE:
RESTRICTED MILITARY/GOVERNMENT
LAW ENFORCEMENT/EXPORT USE ONLY

I haven't fired my LE6920 as of yet.....  I really bought it ($935 shipped) to shoot... BUT with the prices these LE6920's are demanding already, I think I'll hold off for awhile and see what happens when the dust settles. Hell I'll shoot my Government Carbine... I sure can't get $1600 to $2200 for it!!!!  go figure!

What are you sorry for? I'm perfectly aware it says leo carbine not AR15; thats why I bought a 6721. Colt is the only manufacturer that can have AR15 on them, that was my point. Whats yours?

Guess I'd have to have IM capability to get your IM. You can post your contact info on the board if your not full of shit yourself.

I however don't see a good business relationship developing based on where you've taken this already.

fuzzywuz,

I called earlier to have one held for me until I left work. They had "about 30" left. I can't believe how many of them have sold so fast.

If you or anyone else wants one, their number is (410) 247-6757. Ask for the owner, Lou. The sales person that answered originally was kind of dense...

in ancient rome there was a poem
about a dog who found two bones
he picked at one
he licked the other
he went in circles
he dropped dead

freedom of choice
is what you got
freedom of choice!

then if you got it you don't want it
seems to be the rule of thumb
don't be tricked by what you see
you got two ways to go

i'll say it again in the land of the free
use your freedom of choice
freedom of choice
