www.eaglefirearms.net out of colorado. They say they cant say who made their assemblies but the one I bought from them is identical to a CMT one my buddie has.Its a mil spec clone and for $70 with an H buffer its definately worth it and they are in stock.

I would be willing to bet that they are the ones who make them for Colt, only in 4 position instead of 6 position.

check with Teknic

Yeah I wish they'd fill the slots up, what kind of dumb idea is it to have slots in the cheekweld anyway, looks?

Another Teknic vote...

I assume the slots were to lighten as well as stregnthen the stock, kind of like a fluted barrel.

I got my CMT / Stag CAR style stock today. I already had two of the newer M4 style CMT stocks, and wanted a CAR style for my "retro-build." So here's what the CMT CAR stock looks like all mounted up. (I have more pictures if anyone wants to see them.)

Do the CMT brand stocks come with milspec dimensioned buffer extension tubes like Colt/LMT/Vltor, or are they made to the larger commercial dimension like RRA, Bushy etc?

I'm asking because I'd like to know if they are completely interchangeable with my Colt and Vltor stocks-that would completely rock if they were, considering the modest price

They are milspec. I have swapped out the CMT and my Vltor. The Vltor rifle length A1 I have fits on there as would be expected too. Overall I'm pretty happy with them.

I took some comparison shots of the CMT CAR and the CMT M4 style side by side.

I need to find a scale and figure out what this thing weighs. (The whole rifle that is)

They sure look good, but surprised at how small they appear next to the M4 style.

There is a considerable difference. The amount of buttplate you can get on your shoulder is less with the CAR. When it was shipped to me, stock body only, it fit inside one of the small priority mail containers, with enough room to spare for bubble wrap.

The cheek weld is a little different too, although not much.

I will bet right arount 5.9 lbs

And the goal will be to lose the A2 upper and replace it with a C7. That'll shave off a little more too.
