This is a follow-up to my thread about the CMP Lake City ammo.  http://ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=16&t=268526

Some folks have weighed in on the Greek boxed ammo (and felt it was good) but I'm trying to find out if anyone used the Greek clipped ammo.  www.odcmp.com/ammo.htm  I would love to have some bando'd and clipped ammo for my Garand.

The concern I have is that CMP is telling buyers this about their surplus ammo: "Customers should expect that 5% to 15% of the cartridges in any can may exhibit some stages of discoloration or corrosion or other abnormalities."

Anyone use the Greek clipped ammo (versus the Greek ammo that comes in cardboard boxes)?

If so, what was your experience with it?

Thanks, and Semper Fi

I have heard and seen some photos of a couple rounds in a corner of the bottom of the can having some rust on them, but that's about it.  I bought a couple of spam cans of it (clipped and bandoliers), no problems at all.  It is loaded a bit hotter than the LC from CMP, but I'm told it is actually closer to the original specs for M2 ball than the LC.  Don't know if this is true or not.

Accuracy seems to be about the same.  The brass is shaped slightly different from the LC at the base, but I haven't had any difference in the ejection from my M1 or 03.  I say give it a shot and try a can.

Good luck!

I plan to pick up a case for my pending Garand order. It is supposed to be non-corrosive and others have told me it is good to use, as is their LC stuff, but I have no first hand experience.

Works fine for me. I've seen zero corrosion. Here's what you get.
