So how does CMMG measure these barrels? Is it all the way back to the bolt face I guess? So the barrel protruding in front of receiver is about an inch and a half less than a standard 5.56 barrel ?
Thanks

The CMMG 22 rimfire Barrel sets about 1.5" deeper in the receiver than a typical centerfire AR-15 barrel.  The correct method to measure the barrel length is with a wooden dowel rod or cleaning rod with no flash hider or muzzel device.  With the bolt closed on an empty chamber drop the rod into the barrel until it sits on the closed bolt.  Mark the rod, remove and measure, this is the accepted practice for the courts.

7.25" handguard will be perfect for a 9" barrel.
