Century Arms International has anyone built a AR using this lower??
Link Posted: 5/24/2003 1:07:35 AM EST
Even though they are marked Century they are actually made by Continental Machine and Tool and are of excellent quality. CMT is a major contractor of AR15 forgings for Colt and others.

Those receivers work fine - no problems

I have 3 receivers from them, and have 2 complete rifles on CIA receivers. Good stuff!!

I likes 'em enough to have a matching pair. Quality is as good as it gets. They are still out there for $88 through one distributor that I know of that bought Century's remaining inventory of receivers sometime last summer. Century use to build and sell AR-15's known as the C-15 line a few years ago. Continental Machine, huh? Makes sense since the serial numbers begin with CM 00XXX.

My sn is CMT18xx. They are reported to make M16 lowers for Colt.

http://www.continentalmachinetool.com/firearms Yeah, right there they are out of Connecticut. Which four letter firearm manufacturer is also from that state? With the CIA receiver ya get a Colt receiver without the horsey logo and overinflated price.

Gunner, Wholesale Gun of New York still has them at $88.98 and shipping was $6. Phone number is 631-208-9500

Thanks for the info Firebase. Are these forged mill-spec receivers, not the odd sized pin holes like on civilian Colts? Gunner45
Link Posted: 5/25/2003 9:57:55 AM EST
No, they're same spec as forged DPMS, Bushy, Olympic, RRA, and countless others out there.

I also have a pair of century lowers the fit and finish are excellent. They make a great foundation for an A-R. Bill

http://www.assaultweb.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=12;t=211140 Just got my receiver in from Mr. Murray. Haven't built it up yet, but as far as buying from him, I'd do it again. $80 plus shipping (discount for 2 or more) Rob
