I can't believe I have to make a thread about this.  Sorry guys, I tried to search but either the search engine is messed up or it doesn't recognize CAA STOCK SADDLE ???

How are these secured to a pistol buffer tube, how are they kept from rotating?  I'd be using it with an RRA receiver extension if it matters.

TIA

X-2. ????

I mounted mine by first putting a fommie on the buffer tube.  This "beefs up" the buffer tube closer to the diameter of a tube with a stock.  I then used several small strips of velcro tape.

I went ahead and ordered one.  I just want it to be solid, no wiggle.

I'm not sure how tight it'll torque down on a RRA pistol tube.  Good Idea on the foam if I were to use it on a Carbine buffer tube.

I'm guessing there could be locations where Set Screws could be used to secure it too?

This is by no means professional, but here is what I used:

1) AP/Armaflex insulation tape. The dimensions are: 1/8" thick x 2" wide. One side has adhesive. I used two layers of this.
2) 1 "large" black zip tie to bring the rear ears together.
3) 1 "small" black zip tie. I drilled small holes in the storage compartments near the front (see link below for closeup pics) to keep the look "clean." haha or at least as clean as possible for a hack job.
4) A 5/16" x 1/4" aluminum sleeve. You can see in the closeup pics in the link how I used this. Again, it cleaned the look up slightly.

The gun is a John Evichin built 7.5" pistol with a stainless barrel and stainless flash enhancer. It's definitely the best looking and best quality gun in my collection. You can look him up on Gunbroker under "vanderjack."

That's a nice job.  I was just trying to figure out how to place mine on and make it solid.

I even considered JB weld.   Maybe RTV, I don't know yet.   I'd like to not have to squeeze it if I can get away with it.  I like the "cheekweld" profile of it when it's not squeezed in.

Right now I had to squeeze mine in to keep it from moving.

Liked your idea SilverLamp on the bushing, I went with what I had available and cut down an old M9 hammer spring.

I put some black RTV on the buffer tube and slid the short foam pad over, cleaning off the excess.  Then I put more RTV on the underside of the saddle where it would rest on the foam.  Cinched it down tight overnight then next morning (today)  Wrapped the saddle with blue painters tape to keep it from wanting to spread out and clipped off the temporary wire ties.  I cut the hammer spring in the lengths that I wanted and fed the small wire tie thru each following SilverLamp's pics and tightened it down and PRESTO!

No wobble at all, actually feels like it's part of the tube.  I won't force it to see how much it can take but it's very firm.

Thanks SilverLamp, and I hope someone gets good use out of these tips ;-)

Would like to see larger pics, but I get this funky Photobucket fail screen.

JeffCsr that looks good! I like your idea about the RTV between the saddle and foam. I'm definitely going to apply that method. That hammer spring looks good as a bushing too. Nice work!

I used the foam that came with the buffer tube and black wire ties. It has not moved since putting it on.

I'm about to build one too, and was just looking at this possibility.
