Besides fire control group, So far...A2 stock, A2 grip,  I'm looking for knowledge of  the upper.  C7/A1 style upper, is the aperature A1 style (small/small) or A2 style (large/small)?  Round forward assist, 20" govt. 1/7 barrel and front sight post A1 round or A2 square?

Thanks, thinking about a similar build for light full size rifle.

www.pkfirearms.com sells the upper you're looking for.

Heresy!!!  The ELCAN rules.

I know that Danes have a detachable carry handle that has A1 sights, and I assume they bought them from Diemaco.  Did you see any of those in the Canadian mil?

The C7 as the old A1 aperture, but the thread pitch on the windage screw is the same as the A2 so you can replace it with the A2 or what other uber-kool target aperture fits your needs.

A2 sights are kinda overkill for average engagement ranges.  I like the simple A1 sight with the A2 apertured.

Two years ago, one of the ARFcommers had some custom A1 rear sighted detachable carry handles made, patterned after the Canadian version.  If you have a membership, you can find it with the search function.

Where in the world did you get one of those?!?  If you know of a source, let me know - since I'd love to have one.

I do have one of the Diemaco A1 BUIS though, so I shouldn't complain too much.

They`re not available to my knowledge. Mine came from a friend overseas.

I KNEW it!

That's exactly how I got my BUIS too - traded something for it with a Danish soldier.

Having one isn't a cause for complaints, but having to use one, now THAT's worth complaining about.

Up here most buy their own BUIS rather than have to use the craptastic Diemaco issue one.
