Buy a middy or not?

I have heard a lot of middy owners talk about how much they like their rifles. What I would like to hear is your argument against buying one. I am pretty convinced I want one but I want to make sure that I am thinking about everything. All good natured comments appreciated.

The only downside I can think of is them being slightly heavier than a carbine, because the thicker barrel profile under the handguard extends further than the carbine. And if you're really set on a midlength, but want it to be lighter, you can send your barrel to AR15Barrels and have him re-profile it to a lightweight profile.

lol it's still probably lighter than my rifle...my 16" carbine has a HBAR on it

The only way to know if you'll really like one is to shoot one. If you're worried about weight just get Gov. profile, mine is lighter than my HBAR carbine.

BTW - I really like mine.
