Looking for a good target scope, willing to go $400-500.

Wanting 6x24 or thereabouts, target turrets, mil-dot or ballistic mil-dot, AO...

Really considering the Elite 4200, might be willing to go $100 more for the Nikon.

Really can't decide. Will be used on a .223 and my priorities are that the adjustments are repeatable and perfect. Will be put on a target gun.

Thanks.

I have the UCC Monarch 6.5-20x44 Matte (fine crosshair). I love mine. This is coming from a Leupold fan. It would be a buy another Nikon if I had to do again. I have Bushnell products as well but have never been impressed by them. However, I'm just talking about the Trophy and Banner line, not the Elite.

Thanks for your reply. The Sightron SII is getting great reviews on rec.guns and Midway's site. I am seriously considering this one.

I had a Bushnell elite 4200 6-24x with a mil-dot reticle mounted on a CZ 527 varminter. Optically it is a impressive peice of glass. One thing to keep in mind is that the thing is very, very long. On my CZ the scope just looked to big for the rifle. If size is no object i would reccoment the Bushnell. But bigger wasnt better for my project.

I am going with a Sightron SII in 6x24. I'll let you all know what I think when it gets here.

Thanks.

I have quite a few Leupolds, even a swarovski, however for the money, I love my Nikon 6.5x20. I am very impressed with it optical quality. I am using it on a HS223wssm and it is shooting like a champ.

I have seen new Nikon 6.5x20 going for around 400 new, 300 used.

btw: have also used the BL and like them. the 10x 30mm scope they used to make was one of the best scopes I ever owned.

I've had Burris, Leupy Vari-x III, Nikon, Weaver, etc. Right now, except for one Weaver, an Aimpoint and a Trijicon Accupoint, I've got 2 Elite 4200's and 2 3200's. Without a doubt, the 4200 is the best value I've found. My 4x16x50 and 6x24x40 Mil-dot have great glass, repeatable adjustments (1/8 MOA), semi target knobs, titanium tubes, life time warranty, lens caps and sunshades. They are impressive scopes at working man's prices.
