I cant find a place where it appears to have been welded. I was going to see if it was an easy task or not. After reading other threads about it. So any suggestions on this matter?

Sometimes they do a really good job on the refinish after the weld. You are probably just going to have to start slowly removing metal and looking for the pin(s).

Is it a preban with the 5.5" F/S?? If so it's just silver soldered on. MAPP gas will do the trick.

Weld over the pin/setscrew. Sometime you can see the spot, sometimes you can't. Then again, maybe it is silver soldered, like ColtShorty said. I just sold a DPMS 11.5/5.5 and the welded over pin area was clearly visible even after the refinishing attempt.

Damn, I quit. I'm working mids tonight, first of the week. Normal day shifter. Ignore anything I have input to the site tonight.

I'll go back either later tonight or tomorrow afternoon to check on any other jibberish I may have put out tonight. Sorry.
