Hi,
I envy allot of you guys out there being able to have firearms we Californians drool over.  As you know there is a ban on semi-auto military style firearms in this state that I live in.  Bushmaster offers a rifle that does not fall under the description of a so-called "assault weapon".  Basically its a M-4 variant top loader, its the closest thing legally to a AR-style firearm, besides the hassle of loading it, anyone has anything good to say about it in terms of accuracy etc. http://www.bushmaster.com/catalog_carbon15_AZC-C15RM4FT.asp, please be nice, I'm a active NRA supporter, pro-gun activist in a draconian state.

I just know people are going to  jump in here and tell you to avoid the Carbon series of guns for various reasons.  there are other ways to get yourself into an AR that would let you have most all the goodies and still look decent, and would probably serve you better.

Like (ignore the sparklies) www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=387175

It is made from an Off list AR lower receiver and I think uses a bullet button mag release.

Looks good, too good to be true.  There are two DOJ descriptions of so called "assault weapons", one by make and model and the other by description http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/dwcl/12275.php  I take it Bushmasters top loader, 10 rounds and less, and minus raised rear sight gets around the description.  What a hassle, all I want is a AR/M-4 style rifle, 5 years more and I can retire and decide what I want to do with my life, live it here in Kalifornia or move on.

calguns.net/

That is the place to go on the net for info from what I hear, you can start there or at the home town forums here to get bones up on what you need to know.  There are a few Cali members here that might pop in as well.  I do not know much about the laws down there.  I hope you can get it figured out.

I'm in San Francisco.  I've got Bushy that's registered per SB23, so I have all the evil features.  I also have a off list Double Star.
