It is used to hold the upper in a vice so you can install the barrel

The clamp should be used in conjunction with an Armorer's Barrel Wrench. It eliminates the use of barrel vise jaw blocks when removing or replacing barrel assemblies, and is necessary when installing tubular aluminum "V Match" handguards or competition barrel "free floating" tubes.

I bought one last month with one of their barrel wrenches.  I changed out a barrel for the first time.  It worked great.  Looks like a good investment for when the AWB sunsets -- I can change out my preban barrels for threaded barrels.

i knew what it is, i ordered one,  I only asked that b/c like 10 people read my post but no one commented. lol The reason i bought one is b/c i bought a free floating forearm and i'm 99% sure it has to go behind the barrel nut  b/c the photos of it on an AR  have no delta ring at all. So i hope this will work out..

i got my action clamp in the mail today.. i had to make a minor alteration to it though b/c it doesn't fit the colt flat top with the deflector. Nothing a dremel couldn't fix. but it works awesome.
