What do eveyone thinks about the A3 style weapon, what are your opinion about this style and its versatility. dose it keep as good as Zero as they say it dose when being reatached? what else do you have to say about this?

Flat-top Bushmaster is a good and versatile choice in an AR. As far as removal of scope and mount and return to zero of scope and mount, this depends entirely on YOUR choice of scope and mount, and more so the mount. If your talking Leupold scope on an Armalite one piece scope mount, suspect you'd be happy with the return to zero aspects of these choices. As to other choices available, YMMV. Mike

I agree entirely with mr_wilson. A flattop is much more versatile and gives you many more optics options than an A2 upper. I have two A3 rifles and have removed and replaced an Aimpoint mounted in an ARMS 22M68 and a Leupold scope mounted in ARMS 22L rings. I am very happy with the ARMS mounts and, like mr_wilson said, that is the most important factor in getting your zero back. Welcome to the site.

I own a Bushmaster 20" flat top with removable carry handle. I've taken the handle/iron sights off and put them back on plenty of times with no loss of zer0. I am very pleased with this weapon and I shoot it more often than anything else. It's my favorite. [:D] But that's just my opinion - YMMV. ~ s0ulzer0

I have attached a Leupold 20X scope on mine on several occasions. Each time I attached the scope, it was aligned perfectly.

What mounts did you use, G35? I've only started using the ARMS 22 rings recently, but love them so far.

A flat top 20" Gov't barrel upper is my next purchase from Bushmaster. Great general purpose setup.

BookHound, I used the ASA one-piece, which is almost identical to the Armalite one-piece. I have both the ASA and the Armalite. I been using the ASA (which is the one I was referencing in the above post). However, the Armalite should perform the same, and you would be able to re-mount either the ASA or the Armalite with NO loss of zero. Below is the ASA mount. I ordered mine direct from ASA http://www.gunkits.com/mounts.html Below is the Armalite. I recently bought one as my first AR. If it disappeared tomorrow, I'd go out and get another one. So far it's been flawless and I'm very happy. Haven't tried any sights yet, though.
