I figured we all hear the bad often enough that a good company deserves some reporting. I called over a month ago about an XTR14 that had finicky reticle illumination and was told to just drop it in the mail with the repair slip from the website. Turn around was 4-6 weeks which seemed reasonable. I finally got around to getting it sent on Jan 4 and figured I'd have it before the end of Feb. The scope is about 2 years old and has been perfect aside from this recent electonic issue. Anyway, I got home from work Jan17 and it was waiting for me. It will go out later this week on the DSA Stg58 to get re-zeroed.
I have a 3-9x40 FF2 and a 4.5-14x42 FF2 that I consider a couple of my best value scopes and they perform very well (even though they are made in Philippines instead of USA). I believe they stack up pretty well against the mid range offerings from Leupold, Nikon and Bushnell and the XTR holds its own in the next step up. Anyway, consider this an endorsement if you're looking for a durable, bright, clear scope.
I should have the 1-6x24 SWFA SS soon to compare the 2 and I will report back (which is why the XTR14 was moved off the AR to the FAL).
