I just put a 20" kit together for my dad.  A cleaning rod w/patch meets substantial resistence at the gas port in the barrel... there seems to be a burr where the gas port was drilled.

Is this safe to shoot?   If so will firing it smooth it out?  Has anyone else noticed this?  I am also able to see the hole when looking into the barrel at the muzzle.  I haven't had this problem with my AR nor can I really see the gas port hole.

Thanks!

Common question here with J&T barrels, obviuosly they are not test fired, because if they were, you would have never seen the chip/burr hanging down,,, fire a couple runds, and forget about it.
