So, with the ban gone,  I would like to mate a preban Colt Govt. upper to a new lower. The problem is the Colt Upper is grey and the lower is black. Are there any new grey lowers out there to match the preban Colt upper?

I personally have not seen any.  Most of the ones I have used were black for the most part.  And a purple Bushy. You may be able to use one of the gun paints to change the color of the lower.  Alumahyde and Gunkote are ones I have heard of.  No experience with either....sorry.

AVOID using Alumahyde at all costs! I cleaned my upper and lower with a de greaser, followed the instructions on the can to the letter. A month ago, after a day at the range I sprayed my AR down with Gun Scrub and started cleaning the lower. Fifteen minutes later I started on my upper and the Alumahyde peeled off  in sheets.

Sadness filled the land.

Also, It flakes off at the brass deflector.
