What can we consider a build?

For example, the only thing on my AR I did not build is my upper with the exception of the rail (I installed). As far as the lower goes I put it all together. Can I honestly say I built this AR?

Nope.  You just assembled it.  ARs ain't rocket surgery.

Anything short of pounding the molten aluminum block and chiseling the lower receiver with your own two hands is not a build. Amatuers.

Some people think putting a bought lower with a complete upper is a "build." Its about getting the components you want that don't come from the factory and putting it together (however easy or hard) for your custom rifle.
