The click stop detent and spring for the selector switch are held in place by the pistol grip, if you messed with thepistol grip anyway that is where to look. Possibly the detent could have gotten pushed into the receiver and stuck on some flashing in the receiver, but I am guessing you messed with removal of or changing of the pistol grip loosing the parts.

Yup - I found both pieces on the floor after I installed a First Samco pistol grip...  What a maroon I am...
