Hi All,

Please let me first thank you for reading this post!

I just picked up a Pre-Ban Colt AR, and after looking over it a little bit decided to put on the new hand grip I bought for it.

After I removed the stock Colt grip with the single screw, I put on the Seirra Grip I purchased by firmly putting it into place and then reattaching the screw.

Now the safety seems to rotate around without securely staying in either the "safe" or "fire" position.

I am not going to fire the weapon until I either fix it, or have a professional gunsmith fix it.

Thanks for your advice and or suggestions again.

There should be a detent that engages the safety. The detent spring is compressed and held in place with the grip. You probably lost the detent (and spring?) when you removed the old grip.

Thank you VERY much for your help. I found the spring :) Put it into the new handle, and re-attached. Works great now. I did notice that little whole and didn't know what it was for.
