I found some British 62gn ammo (suppose to be ss109, but not painted) on stipper clips at a gun show.  It was in a ammo belt (green), and it was going for about 36.00 for 150 rnds.  Has anyone had any experience with this stuff?

Do a search on Radway Green and look here.

Works good in my 20 barrel length AR's, but begins to short stroke in my 16 in carbines after 200 or so rounds.  Not enough gas pressure to cycle the action when the short guns get dirty.

Even though it isn't green tip, it is SS109 62 gr.  British never painted any of their tips green on the SS109, as they never issued 55 grain ball.....so they don't need to be able to tell the differance.

Accurate and good ammo, if you have a long barrel.  Test it in your gun and see before buying too many cans of the stuff.

My experience has been the opposite -- runs all day in my M4's, but any of my 20" rifles have problems with it. I have suspected that they are using fairly fast powder, but now your experience has thrown off my theory.

I got 450 rounds (3 bandoliers of 150 each on stripper clips) of this for $80 at my last show. It ran fine in my latest M4gery build.

I just burned a bandoleer yesterday, all worked fine in a Colt LEO M-4 carbine. That was after several hundred rounds of 193pd, SA and some bosnian stuff. Shot fine, mine is 1990 manf. I could get this for 139.00 for 900 rounds thru AIM. I think SA is hotter but this is decent priced for what you get. Shot pretty clean also. 210 per 900 is WAY overpriced tho, AIM still has it for 149.00 per 900, comes in a sealed ammo can.

May I know the case stampings?  Are they by any chance GE or GF?

My 90s Radway is headstamped RORG 91. Has a + with a circle around it. Box which was lead sealed had the paper inside dated 90. Hope this helps.

Not sure when you last looked.  But AIM appears to be out and they have been for about a week.
