I have one of the cheapo mesh ones that attaches around the handguard with velcro. I reinforced it with a coat hanger to keep the mouth open. It works alright with a lot of fiddling around for the $10 investment. I use it at the range where I don't want to crawl around other shooter's feet hunting for my brass.

after you bend, cut, and sew, the coat hanger into it you can bend the wire when it leaves the velcro so it will press against the receiver tighter and not slide down after 10 rounds.

Alexander Arms has the BEST brass catcher system on the market........... I have 1 on each of my AR's.

Funny- I did the exact same thing to mine. I also cut a foam block to stick in it when it's in the range bag. Keeps from being flattened. |
