Just checked their website $249 a case (1200 rounds) shipped! $0.2075 per round!

Those bastages, I just picked up 1000 rounds from Ammunition Store, TZZ 88 head stamped and is in far from like new condition. On first sort I figure I'm going to have around 150 rounds that are no good. I’ll end up paying 23 cents per round.

I would definitely go for Botach’s deal instead.

Is there anyone left brave or stupid enough to deal with Botach?

I actually thought about it for a second. If I didn't already have a case and had the money, I'd probably get one. It makes you understand how those abused wives/girlfriends stand by their man. But it still makes no dam sense.

I have bought 5 cases of IMI M855,from BOTACH over the last yr or so at $242 shipped, and without any problems with BOTACH...the secret seems to be, buy when they have sales.its in stock! LONGHUNTER

Okay, I'll bite. I have purchased 3 of these 1200 round M855 cases at 251.50 shipped ($238 + $13.50shipping)for a per cartridge cost of .2095. They are all IMI (head stamped 02) and all fired so far have performed as expected. They always shipped within a reasonable time frame and the product was well packaged. Whats the rub? Why should I feel bad about this?

I have dealt with Botach on three occasions. All three times something went wrong. The worst case was when I ordered a GGG canti mount from them that they said was in stock. After six weeks of calling them and asking where my mount was they finally said they weren't in stock and didn't expect any. It took five more weeks for them to credit my card that they charged at the time of order. There are many posts of similar problems. Buyer beware.

I have placed about 7 orders with Botach in the last 5 years. Everything has always arrived withen 2 days.

They seem to be okay with ammo, but hit-or-miss with other products. They've had about a 75% screw up rate with my orders. Could be because the people who process general merchandise orders are English-impaired.

I think this may be the essence of this discussion. This is the AMMO thread, and it appears that in the ammo category they do well other than some delays which they explain up front when you order (their site indicates they fullfill govt & industry orders prior to responding to individual orders). I have found them worth waiting for (2 weeks was the longest for a delivery to arrive).

Have any of you guys seen the store front? From what I hear it's a run down pawn shop in a bad part of town.

It's possible. I have ordered parts from companies in LA for shipment to the Bay Area, and they arrived in two days, same as second day air. And I paid ground rates and the parts were shipped ground.

I ordered from Botach about 5 or 6 months ago...lots of misc stuff that was on sale. I got everything except one item which they ran out of. It all arrived on my doorstep within 3 business days.

I asked about coming in to pick up an order, and the guy said the owner preferred that only LEOs do that due to store's location. So, UPS ground it was--and UPS ended up screwing up (according to the tracking details).

http://www.imisammo.co.il/news.htm Scroll down to Monday, December 10, 2001. You would think Botach would be on the ball. I am going to order the 1200 of M855, and take my chances. If it doesn't work out. Never again. Edit: And Lookie Lookie http://www.imisammo.co.il/links.htm at the bottom link! IMI is smart! [;)] Spooge Out!

It's the silvertip ammo. (lead core, no steel)

I would proclaim you the winner but... I know for a fact you can find somebody who is one of the above.. We should have had a poll on this one.

Yeah, they've told me LEOs only too, but I've been in there several times. I've had a couple delays with items out of stock from Botach, but most times I ordered I got my stuff in two days. Never had any delays ordering ammo from them.

Guess you gotta live in CA!
Link Posted: 8/28/2003 11:15:47 PM EDT
Yep, I've been there too. I preferred when they were transitioning from Pawn and Gun to equipment supplier. They still had the old bank counter in place. There was a bullet hole in the old bank's resistant barrier added a lot of character. What is an M855S (special bullet)?
