Alright, I am bored out of my mind covering my jobsite today. After a long and exhausting week, I doubt I'll get much of value done so I am going to order some goodies for my 20" AR. I have widener's and midway's pages open and ready to go. My budget is $150 (my christmas bonus to myself.) What would you order if you were me?
Current Rifle Specs- I don't have pictures at work
- 20" A4 Bushmaster upper with 1/9 twist, A2 front sight, A2 handguards and flash hider.
- Bushmaster lower with DPMS LPK, Magpul MOE grip and A2 stock. The trigger is gritty, heavy and awful.
- Optic old tasco 2.5-12 in Warne AR quick detach rings. I need to upgrade my optic but I want to wait until I have more funds available and a clearer direction of where I am going to go with this rifle.
- Bipod- Harris 6"-9" with sling Stud mount in handguard
- Currently shoots around 1" to 1.25" groups at 100 yards with my reloads consisting of 2x fired FC brass, 24.7 grs of H335, wolf SRM primer and bulk 55gr FMJ bullets from Wideners. Last time I was at the range my groups were opening up to about 4" to 5" at 200 yards from prone but the shooting conditions were awful.
What I am thinking of ordering
- JP trigger Spring Kit. The trigger on my rifle really needs some work. I don't want to drop $100 + on a drop in assembly
- A sling. I need a decent sling to help cart the rifle around. I don't need anything tactictal, just something that will work nicely with the stock sling loops and the bipod in place.
- New Handguard, gas block etc. to free float the barrel. This seems like overkill to me as the upper shoots just fine.
- Reloading components to work up a 62 gr or 69 gr load. Again not sure if this is neccessary. I doubt I'll ever shoot past 300 yards and I like to keep all my reloads close to my Q1313a shtf stash.
- More powder, primers etc to keep on loading my current recipe.
